Clark Gillies

New York Islanders fans will fondly remember Clark Gillies. Drafted fourth overall in 1974, he was a vital part of Islanders teams that won four straight Stanley Cups in the early 1980s. At 6'2, 210lbs, Clark helped create space so his linemen could excel, drawing the respect of his teammates. Willingly taking on the enforcer role, Clark's excellent shooting, passing and skating skills earned him the stature of a premier power forward. He had 30 goals and 30 assists in a season five times and finished his NHL career with 304 goals and 569 points. In 1989 Clark was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Today, he is a successful financial services professional. He devotes significant time to his Clark Gillies Foundation, which improves the quality of life for children.
