Dave Schultz

Known as a premier enforcer during his nine year career, Dave "The Hammer" Schultz rarely shied away from a fight. Born in Waldheim, Saskatchewan, Dave broke into the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers, quickly earning a reputation for being physical and garnering an NHL record 472 penalty minutes in the 1974-1975 season. His aggressive style contributed to the Broad Street Bullies' Stanley Cup championships in 1974 and 1975.

Dave co-authored a book called The Hammer about his experience as an enforcer, even recording a song, "The Penalty Box" in 1975. Dave retired in 1980 with 2,294 career penalty minutes.
